Volunteer Attorney:

RICLAPP seeks volunteer attorneys to provide legal assistance for specific cases.  By providing pro bono representation, volunteer attorneys gain valuable legal experience as their client's primary advocate from start to finish on a case.

Administrative Assistant:

RICLAPP is in need of an administrative volunteer to help us manage our day-to-day operations. Volunteers will be asked to answer the phone and assist with community outreach initiatives such as mass mailings. Volunteers will also be responsible for performing intake procedures for new clients who call the office. Volunteers will be required to undergo a brief training on intake procedures, RICLAPP's programs and legal services, and RICLAPP's administrative systems prior to starting the volunteer position. Volunteers should be comfortable working in person with clients. They should also be organized, punctual, and have a positive attitude!

RICLAPP Ambassador:

RICLAPP is looking for volunteers to help out with our Senior Legal Clinic Program. The Senior Legal Clinic Program serves elders at senior centers in Cranston, Warwick, East Greenwich, and Woonsocket by providing low cost legal services. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work directly with clients by performing intake procedures immediately prior to the client's appointment. Other duties include scheduling future appointments, providing information about the Rhode Island Center for Law and Public Policy, and distributing informational materials. Volunteers will be working on site at the senior centers. Volunteers are required to go through a brief training at our office on proper intake procedures and general information on the Rhode Island Center for Law and Public Policy. Volunteers should be comfortable working in person with senior populations. They should also be be organized, punctual, and have a positive attitude!

College Internships:

RICLAPP accepts student interns that have an interest in working in the human services sector of the non-profit world.  RICLAPP's program requires that interns work a minimum of 8 hours per week during fall or spring semesters and a minimum of 16 hours per week during summer internships. Prior to beginning an internship, RICLAPP requires that students meet with a staff member.  The last day to apply for a summer internship is May 14, 2010.
